Waking Up is Hard to Do

If these 5 Minnesota nurse-anesthetists can pass gas as well as they can sing, I want my next surgery in their hospital.

Lol...I find it entertaining that so many people don't understand that these guys are CRNA's, not anesthesiologists. This includes from what I've seen a fair amount of people in the medical field.

CRNA = Advanced nurse specializing in anesthesiology

Anesthesiologist = Physician specializing in anesthesiology

I know this b/c I'm an anesthesiologist :)

One reason you love these guys and their dynamic personalities is because they are C.R.N.A's or Certified Registerd NURSE ANESTHETIST'S. Way to be guys I'm sure you are amazingly awesome at your anesthesia skills even more so than your singing and performing and that is saying a lot! CRNA's ROCK!!!!!!

Must be a Nitrous Oxide leak somewhere. I laughed my... (fades to sleep)

Heh you fellas, how about coming over and sing to us in Cairns, Queensland. You fellas are bloody beaut, mate!

I'm a pediatric cardiologist. We could use some humor and harmony in the pediatric cardiac OR. Remember cardiologists have rhythm!
Rock on guys!

I was an Anesthesia gopher ( for DeBakey ) 6 years when a young student in the 60's . Working for the flatulent on his large service I found ALL of them to be very quick w a quip and entertainers at heart , like the above deliciously harmonious be-boppers band . Their other OR job it seemed , was to liven up the conversation when it lagged .Those who have been there will recall hearing more filth spoken well than in any other known location .

Well done fellows . If all else fails quit serenading those sleepy heads , give them a jolt of prostygmin , and slap them around a little .That should wake them up .

I sure wish these guys would come to Canada and start singing in the Waiting Room. I hate sitting there for 4 hours in abject pain on a scale of 10, with nothing to do but wince. These guys would be the best medicine for every one of us. Viva! Anaesthesiologists!
^j^

These guys were terrific -- wish they'd come to the dirty, disorganized hospitals here in New York -- I'm moving!

As a med/surg nurse, I just have to say that these MDs are not only talented, but CUTE! LOL!! You can sing before AND after MY surgeries ANYTIME, Docs! You are all just GREAT! If you are ever in the Fremont, CA area, please drop by and ask for Elaine! I would, also, love to join your group!!
Thanks so much for the great smile/laugh!! U R THE BEST! EMH

This is just the greatest !!
After many many surgeries I
can really appreciate it, and
not only is it hilarious, they
really can sing so well - they
should do lots more for us.

That was awesome guys! I am too in the medical field and believe we have the best hospital humor there is. I was laughing so hard. Loved it!

Antique Little Girl said...

That is hilarious from a pt's point of view, also! ‹(^¿^)›

When I had my shoulder surgery, the heart monitor was dinging, and I said, "What is that?" The anesthesiologist said it was to keep the doc awake. I said, "As long as it doesn't keep me awake!"

The surgeon who just did my cataract surgeries was laid back and a lot of fun, too.

You just can't go wrong with a good sense of humor.

As a patient of many, many surgeries and enough anesthesia to choke a horse, I wish I had had one of you guys to put me down! Maybe you would have said something to me before whacking me out! Ha! Ha! Great song and this patient loves it.
Tell everyone to talk to their patients, please. :)

GREAT Video. I go in for surgery in a few weeks. Not sure I want them to break out in song, but if they are still doing their job, I guess it will be OK. LOL This video sure made me less worried about my anesthesia. (Been under general 14 times in my life already and hope THIS is my last time)

You guys are totally awesome. Do you travel to different cities? If you don't now, you NEED to because if I need surgery, you have to be there!! Get some more songs together and record them!! I'd buy whatever you recorded!!

Unknown said...

I'm going in for an endoscopy and colonoscopy tomorrow, I know my anesthesiologist won't understand when I crack up laughing when I see him coming! This is hilarious!

So adorable, hey you guys sound great! Loved the laugh. Thanks so much!

KathyG_NC said...

Really love this! If these guys are singing this for real, they need to get booked on some show, try "The Doctors" - it would be funny to see them there. But these guys have great harmony and should do more! Thanks!! Fabulous job guys!!

WTG GUYS you can put me to sleep and wake me up anytime GUYS , Good to have a sense of Humor .....LOL

Lee Miskle said...

This might be your first "hit" from Australia. I am unsure as there were too many to read through. You guys are fantastic and I have almost rolled with laughter and couldn't resist sending this to all my co-workers and friends. As an Emergency Department Nurse laughs are often few and far between. If ever I need an "op" please send the guy on the right. I don't think I would feel an incision from my strnum to my symphisus !!!! Damn that wedding band !!!! Lee

Very cute...I am a labor & delivery scrub tech...my only issue is that they were in a real O.R. without hats on...scrub tech antennae picked that up immediately! LOL

Unknown said...

I love it!!!! Too bad they don't work in NY where they need that sense of humor!!!!

Unknown said...

i am a single (divorced) 57 year old music teacher......which one is available for making music together with me????

Unknown said...

LOVE IT! A friend passed this to me via email and now I'm going to pass it to fellow medical office friends. I would love to work with guys with this sense of humor, harmony and cuteness! Keep up the fun.

Unknown said...

My grandmother was a CRNA and I would have paid big money to see her do something like this. It's nice to see the humor that comes out when you work with people for a length of time. You guys can wake me up any time! Wish my extern site had that much fun working together. They need to take lessons!

Unknown said...

I am a nurse in Hawaii and I loved seeing this, can you send the humor and creativness across the ocean to us!!

Caroline Boyce said...

these guys are absolutely awesome; cheered my day for sure ... hope they do some Monkee renditions soon xo

Unknown said...

Well, this is too funny. The caption clearly states that they are nurse anethesiologists, but some readers, seeing that they are guys, call them "These Doctors".

Hello!! Nurses are multi-talented!

Am a recent ER/OR/Rehab patient recovering from a fractured femur (which occured while dancing at my nephew's wedding in Dallas last month (followed by a mild stroke 24 hours later and the diagnosis of a PFO ... or some other medical acronym indicating I have a hole in my heart). ONE WISH ... that I had been dancing to the music of these guys instead of the BeeGees!! Perhaps it would have prepared me a little for what was to come!!! Outstanding song .. outstanding job!! (no offense to the BeeGees ... are there even any of them still around?).

Unknown said...

I loved this! I sang to my daughter when she was 4 yrs old, in the OR waiting room. It not only calmed her, but also the others of all ages awaiting surgery. "Music hath charms" after all.

Great! My husband was an ER Tech in the AF for 20+ years ... he loved it and so do I!

Unknown said...

What a great video!!!! I've been a nurse over 35 years now and have never experienced anything like this. How funny!!! I've had surgery when in "twilight sleep" and I could see myself imagining these anesthesiologists breaking out in song.LOL It would be more fun waking up after surgery.

Rockin' out and just singing along. Wonderful live entertainment. Love this!

Loved it! I'm a 25+ yr OR nurse. I knew a lot of talented anesthesiologists, anesthetists and surgeons that weren't in the electronic communication era, unfortunately. Glad to see these guys doing a great representation for all surgical professionals past & present.

How hilarious. I notice that most of those commenting are OR folks. I'm a patient -- just had a total knee replacement two weeks ago. I have to admit, I can picture my anesthesiologist singing along. Having had a few surgeries (breast cancer, hysterectomy, etc.), I did once wake up. I remember hearing everyone talking, the anesthesiologist scrambling to give me more "white stuff" and being really angry that no one thought the joke I tried to contribute funny. I felt no pain.

Unknown said...

I love it!I am always slow waking up, so they tell me. Maybe these guys are why I tend to wake up trying to sing a song. The last time was "Follow the Yellow Brick Road." Why?? Who knows. Great songs and singing.

I wish people would not forward this as the singing anesthesiologists- They are in fact, nurse anesthetists, The Laryngospasms!
Please remember that most of the anesthesia in the US is provided by nurse anesthetists!

Have you heard the "Song of the Colo Rectal Surgeon"??? ... Absolutely hilarious. However, it is not sung by the likes of these anesthesiologists. As a semi-professional entertainer, let me say great singing guys, and the harmony was good too.

LOL!!! I want to work with these guys! LOL! I love it! This is all so true! I'm an ICU RN and this just made my day!
